  Tracy Arm and the Sawyer glacier  Morning views from our balcony At breakfast  Gazing on the glacier  Tender pit activity  Our group is the first zodiac away today  In the front seat again.  Seal sun baking on an iceberg. Yes there is a mountain goat on the cliff.  Theresa, our boat captain, retrieved a piece of ice. We took our share to the explorers bar where the friendly bar tender added it to our drinks.  Next event was a tour of the bridge.  I wanna chart plotter like this.  In the captains chair with the captain.  Here is a quick tour of our cabin.  This afternoon’s lecture was on how whales make and hear sounds.  View from the restaurant at dinner.  As part of the ships green credentials all menus are published on the app where everything on the boat is booked and notified   During dinner we saw a number of whales blowing  Then watched a pod of 3 orcas playing off the bow

Day 4

 Misty Fjord First activity of the day was a Whale and sea creature presentation with guessing games   From the bow we headed to the stern to learn about cloud identification.  I found one! After all the brain work we needed to relax in the Jacuzzi at a soothing 40 degrees. After lunch the cruise into Misty Fjord New Edistone Rock Here we see the ship with her anchor chain pointing straight down. Technically we are at anchor with two shackles of chain out (75 m) in 50 m of water. Actually the shop is holding itself in a defined spot by dynamic positioning where the engines, azipods and thrusters work in unison. Having the anchor down means that the Pilot can leave the bridge.  16 Zodiacs were launched, 15 operational and one for rescue, and passengers were loaded in groups of 10 for an hours cruising around the Fjord.  The ship provided us with the top coat jacket, life jacket and muck boots (gum boots). We provided base and mid layer thermal's, hats and gloves....

Morning tender ride Bald eagle on the wharf Bike ride finished here yesterday and many competitors have camped on the beach. And sun baking this morning. The latest in transportation  Fellow travellers were on a buss where both of the dual wheels fell off one side of the bus whilst driving  Their excursion was significantly delayed whilst they awaited a replacement bus   Collecting our gear for the rafting activity  Our boat captain has amazing strength.  I once recorded our speed at 6.8 knots Bald Eagle nest  Beaver ckewing at the base of the tree Alaskan Roses The Hammer Museum  Tiny fish hooks Lots of souvenirs to choose from Snow shoes have improved since my mum had some in the 1960’s Caravan bodies are built inside the wheels  Historical Fort Seward Fire hose where the homes are hung vertically to stop the water freezing.  The fire truck has run out of fuel Luckily he not heading to a fire Locally produced Spruce Tips Ale
